Well for one, they are locally based boats that fish several days a week in these waters....but the fact that they do not fire EVERY day shows that there is still a large element of luck involved (eg Diversion 4 fish Day 1; 1 fish Day 2) - sort of like when you buy tickets in the Friday night meat raffle at the RSL. The people on the table next to you, who bought the same or less tickets, get 3 prizes, and your table gets zip.
Interesting to note also that the Interclub might be heading to Sydney.....

NSW Game Fishing Association interclub tournament organisers say marine park authorities could be spelling the end of the event in Port Stephens.
Association president Don Goswell said he feared the Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park was considering introducing restrictions to prohibit bringing game fish through the marine park, a requirement for competitors who weigh their catch on the public jetty at Nelson Bay.
"They need to come through the marine park to get to the weigh station," Mr Goswell said.
But marine park management has denied plans to restrict game fisherman but said "the authority was encouraging tournament organisers to continue to promote the catch and release categories that already existed in the tournament, in line with community expectations."
Mr Goswell admitted the competition would eventually be "100 per cent tag and release" but said many competitors still preferred the capture format.
If such restrictions were implemented, the event which pumps millions of dollars into Port Stephehs each year, could be set for an expensive move to Sydney.
"If we had to go to Sydney it would mean everything is five star and a lot more expensive for people to take part," he said.
Scientists often use the capture of large fish to take samples during the weigh process.
Some say the proposed restrictions would undermine the work of those scientists.
